Parkinson’s Disease Therapy
Learn to communicate and move more effectively with rehabilitation therapy for Parkinson’s disease at UNC Health Caldwell. Trained physical therapists and speech-language therapists can provide focused care to help you improve your abilities.
Therapy for Neurological Conditions
If you or a loved one has Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke or cerebral palsy, it may be hard to communicate with others and move. Speech problems make it difficult for you to produce loud, clear sounds. Mobility problems make it challenging to control your arms and legs, and increase your risk for falling.
Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD & BIG
Work with our specially trained LSVT-certified speech therapist and physical therapist for proven treatments close to home. Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD® and LSVT BIG® programs help improve Parkinson’s disease symptoms.
Proven Voice & Movement Treatment
Depending on your condition, you may benefit from one or both of these programs. Your therapy will include one hour of intensive treatment with your therapist. Commit to home exercise to get the best possible outcome.
LSVT LOUD Therapy
Become a better communicator when you participate in training to make your voice “LOUD.” A soft voice and sound imprecision are common speech problems with Parkinson’s disease. With treatment, you’ll gain speech clarity and a stronger voice. Research also shows that LOUD therapy can improve your tone and facial expressions.
LSVT BIG Therapy
Expand your flexibility and range with movement treatment at UNC Health Caldwell. Receive training to make your arm and leg movements “BIG” with better control during daily activities. This therapy naturally decreases your risk of falling. Research also shows that BIG therapy can improve walking, balance, and your ability to do daily activities.
Treatment Location
LSVT LOUD and LSVT BIG outpatient rehabilitation therapy take place at UNC Health Caldwell’s Quest4Life Wellness Center.
