It's about good health. Plain and simple. Caldwell Memorial Hospital has opened Community Pharmacy to help patients be more likely to fill and take their discharge medications. Of course, the benefits to Community Pharmacy don't stop there.
"Patients sometimes do not get their discharge prescriptions filled after they leave the hospital and that can really impact their health and treatment," said Laura Easton, President and CEO of Caldwell Memorial Hospital. "We spent some time looking at this issue and proposed the solution that we open Community Pharmacy so that our patients would have the opportunity to get those prescriptions filled before they left the hospital." Less than five months later, Community Pharmacy opened to the public.
"Community Pharmacy is a convenient and cost-comparable option for our patients, our community, and staff." Easton added, "A great benefit is that you don't have to be admitted to the hospital to get your medications filled here. Anyone can use Community Pharmacy."
Community Pharmacy accepts most major insurance drug plans including Medicare and Medicaid, and insurance co-pays are comparable to those at other local pharmacies. Prescriptions are priced comparably with that of any other local pharmacy as well. Many popular over-the-counter medications are also available at Community Pharmacy.
Community Pharmacy is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday. Community Pharmacy is located in the Visitor Lobby at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. There is also drive-thru window for convenient drop-off and pick-up of prescriptions.
