On Tuesday, August 25, 2015, North Carolina Commissioner of Labor Cherie Berry (right) presented an award to Caldwell UNC Health Care in recognition of the organization’s achievement of 1,000,000 hours worked without a day lost for injury.
During her remarks, Commissioner Berry praised Caldwell UNC Health Care for the healing and care it provides to patients and to our co-workers, adding that safety is an achievement earned by every member of the Caldwell UNC Health Care team. Commissioner Berry’s goal is “to make North Carolina the safest state in the country for workers”.
Caldwell’s Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer Rebecca Smith accepted the award on the organization’s behalf. She thanked the hospital’s employees and recognized staff members Robin Talmadge, Valerie Kelly, Mary McLeod and Leisa Powell for their contributions to the successful implementation of this program.
